The nature conservation camp "Atanasovsko Lake" 2017, which is the oldest in Bulgaria and is held for the 29th consecutive year, was completed. This August, over 70 volunteers from Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas took part in the activities during the brigade, but young people from Australia, Great Britain and Germany returned especially for the camp.
The most important task for the participants was the completion of the complex of platforms in the southern part of Atanasovsko Lake, which would serve for resting and nesting of the Dalmatian pelicans. This new "holiday station" has an area of 144 sq.m and is now the largest such facility in Bulgaria. For maximum comfort of the pelicans the platforms are covered with sheaves reed - cut and carried by the volunteers. Some of the already built platforms in Atanasovsko lake were repaired and cleaned out of unnecessary vegetation, popped with mussels, etc.
